The Midland Centre firmly believe that its time to consider some new ideas for getting the MG's meeting again in our region during the Spring and Summer in 2021.

Our history of Motorsport and Social events offers support and meetings throughout the eight Midlands counties and, together with our various local MG groups, we look forward to providing continued gatherings within the Midlands area.

NEW...  'Classic Nostalgia' Shelsley 18th July...
Well, as the tabloid 'redtops' might have put it, "Phew, wot a scorcha!" Those who visited Shelsley Walsh over the weekend of July 17 & 18 were treated not only to a superb display of vehicles, but also to some gloriously hot and sunny weather. Too hot for some, in fact, and on the Sunday many folk had resorted to using rain umbrellas as parasols. Walking up to the Esses was hard work even for fit people. The Midland Centre had a presence on the Sunday, together with the MGB, MGC and Magnette Registers, representing the MG Car Club. The now-familiar horde of rally cars entertained as ever, particularly the raucous Chevy V8-engined Vauxhall Firenza. One wonders how it gets past the scrutineers! Unfortunately, as with a recent Nostalgia, someone laid a trail of oil up most of the hill, necessitating a lengthy delay on Sunday afternoon while the marshals laid cement dust. Drivers - check your oil lines! So now we will look forward to next year's event, when the Midland Centre will endeavour once again be there, and hopefully some new themes will emerge from the MAC. Thanks to all our local groups who turned up with us, it was nice to meet you all and to have a chat. Hope to see you next year.

NEW...  Report - 'First Super Natter' BMM 8th June...
Midland Centre members were out in force on the First of our 'Super Natter' Evenings on Tuesday 8th June at the British Motor Museum’s event at Gaydon.

Under a clear blue sky and with the sun well and truly blazing away the first Midlands Centre Super Natter took place at the British Motor Museum`s June Summer Gathering. A very good turnout of MGs, the biggest single marque present, made for a delightful evening. Picnics and gourmet burgers were consumed, and for some, large ice creams as well!

The Midland Centre sail flags proudly flew in the gentle breeze under which members chatted away. The BMM put on a display of veteran cars that chugged amongst the hundreds of cars present. All contributed to a great summer atmosphere.

The next one will be on Tuesday 13th July. More information regarding tickets and entrance requirements will be announced on our Facebook page, Centre website and Centre Newsletter later this month.
So why not make a date to join us.

Thanks to all for making this a great social occasion.

Social Events Welsh Rallye ...

A prime example of the events we organise is our annual Welsh Rallye - see selected photos alongside.

This regularly attracts more than 40 cars, their drivers and passengers for a 150-mile drive around the quiet country roads of Wales, all encompassed within a 2-night stay at a quality hotel.

Although due to restrictions the Annual Welsh Rallye had to be cancelled for 2020 and 2021, we are pleased to inform our regular attendees that plans are well advanced to return in May 2022. Watch this area for more details.....
Social Events 2021 ... NEW.....   Triumph & MG Weekend 13-15 August ...
Super Natter Evenings - New for 2021 is a series of what we have dubbed Super Natters and the first will take place on Tuesday 8th June Tuesday 13th July, Tuesday 10th August and Tuesday 14th September. Meeting at 5.00pm at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon.  Please note certain Covid-19 restrictions will still apply.

We have teamed up with the Museum`s monthly Evening Gatherings when members can take an early evening drive to meet up with like minded colleagues, and tear into a burger and partake of a coffee.

In total, the Midland Centre are planning 14 specific events during the year and we would really like as many of you to be involved with them, so take this opportunity to add them into your personal diary now.

To give you a 'Taste' of the Midland Centre Social Events, have a look at the photos we have collected on our website 'Gallery' page.

This new event marks a historic collaboration between Triumph clubs and the MG Car Club to create the Triumph and MG Weekend at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern 13 – 15 August2021.

"The Midlands Centre is thrilled to have this great event within our area, probably the first time ever we have played host to such a prestigious MGCC event. Within hours of the news breaking, your Centre committee had started work on how we can add to the attractions being offered to make the gathering an historic occasion. Already we are planning a run through the delightful surrounding countryside to add to the experience of a joyful weekend.

We welcome joining our friends from the Triumph clubs but advise them that they will witness the might of the MG marque that will dwarf all. But only if you make a date to join us".
